iBorders is an electronic border management infrastructure developed to host and exchange immigration and travel information. Used for the implementation of electronic immigration systems in
a growing number of countries worldwide, the iBorders product suite includes Advance Passenger Processing (APP) and Advance Passenger Processing APP is a travel facilitation and border protection service enabling governments to automatically and interactively check the personal information of airline and shipping passengers and crew against passport, visa and watch list databases, prior to granting approval to board. The service effectively creates a virtual country border offshore and enables pre-screened travellers to obtain immigration clearance more speedily on arrival. Electronic Visas The EV service is an infrastructure that allows travel agents, diplomatic posts and airlines to validate and issue travel visas electronically. Successfully used in Australia since 1996, EV processes close to three million visa applications each year, representing 90% of all visas issued for travel to Australia. The Australian service interacts with over 70 airlines and 300,000 travel agents worldwide, and may also be used by individuals from many countries to apply for electronic visas over the Internet. |
